Re-writing Puffle article somewhat
Please read thoroughly.
As some of us know, I don't like what the article about puffles says about them. However, most of the community thinks that they should be mammals. After reading what most wrote, I've come to a conclusion. Before you jump into any conclusion, I'm am NOT going to say puffles are snakes or whales or something similar. I am also saying that they shouldn't be marsupials, or mammals for that matter. Mammals don't have cold-colored fur, and that should be proof enough if you're going to be scientific enough to say that puffles can't be snakes because "their eyes are too small".
Anyways, I'm going to propose something that'll make everyone happy. As explorer stated, Puffles are meant to be exotic. Now, let's look at the origional designs.
Clearly, the creators weren't thinking of something generic. THey were thinking of something out-of-this world. And that's what I want. I want Puffles to be aliens. I mean, they weren't thinking "mammal" either, and puffles don't resemble any mammal I know of, and theren't any mammals with telekinesis (which some aliens in popular culture have). And besides the discoloration of the "fur", mammal fur (and hack, even mammals) cannot survive being covered in flames. Puffles also don't appear to have a vertebrae column, although I'm not saying anything more about this, since I have no proof.
Anyways, what do you think? Aliens is pretty neutral from what we're looking at. Whether it be that some kind of intelligent extraterrestrial dumped them hers, or an asteroid full of acid and DNA crashed onto earth, we can decide that later. As for the re-write of the article, it'll be fine. Science is subject to change. It could be that penguins thought that puffles were marsupials, but did further research and found out they were something new, and then did even further research and discovered their cosmic heritage. That would get on the headline of the Penguin Times
And I think it makes sense that red puffles appeared first, since they are so isolated from the rest, and if we're using the 2nd theory, the asteroid crashed there.
