Bart Hathaway was born in 1988, and was put up for adoption. When he turned 14, he escaped and changed his name to Shade. He stole from stores, homes, and vendors to survive. Eventually, he had to rob a bank to escape. During the robbery, he severely injured a few people, who almost died.
